Ylajali - fullkommen semesteravslutning i Dataforeningen

Rubens Urn Interment - October 22 - 2008
Oooops -noen bilder er hulterdebulder - linja er nå på trynet langsomt 7.1 kb . Steinalder

It was a beautiful Autumn early afternoon. The Sky was blue. Sun Shining. A little breeze from the South. The temperature in Oslo to be above normal this time of year.

Still colourful leafes on the trees and on the ground. Flowers around the Graves. At Nordre Gravlund (North Graveyard). Silence. Only some whispers from the wind touching the last leafes. Whispers to the ones that have found their last rest and for those that have no chance but one day also find the eternal rest.

A very special mood. Papa and Anna arrived 1 hour before. Needed some time in Peace. To remember. To reflect. To think. To observe. To respect a person that dedicated himself and his life to the ones that needed it the most.

Something Practical - you see the person to the left?
What did he bring?

The Urne - in a Cagde - What a feeling

We know, his friends miss Ruben at least as much as we do.

The Stone - My grandma was 34 when my Father Was Born - hmmm
Here is mama

In the following is some photos from the ceremony. It was heartbraking.

We can not still believe it

Ruben is #4 in the family Grave. Should have been # 9-12.

Papa and Niklas did bring the Urn into the Hole in the Ground.

Then, all the Family and friends shuffled some soil upon the Urn. That was very emotional.

Some plantes and flowers were placed upon.
Then silence and grief and tears.

Ruben we miss you.

Forever my First Son.
PS. Paps er utrolig trett og evig trist

Found this What Your Name Means on Expat Travelers Blog: I checked out my blogname:

What Toraa Means

You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life.

You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home.

You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.

You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life.

You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you.

At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.

You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.

You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.

You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.

You have the classic "Type A" personality.

Minnesota Wild Rice, Sea Wolf, Marigold, Blue Cheeses, berries, espresso and calvados etc.

Suzann gave me a gift (besides her unique hospitality): Minnesota Wild Rice. Anna studied the wide variety of recipes. And we together ended up with this.

Sea Wolf, Minnesota Wild Rice and Marigold.

Blue Cheese and berries as dessert ---

--- and ended up with Espresso and a zip of Calvados. >Plus something more.

Palm Sunday - August 3 - 2008

On Saturday we bought Palms and Pottery. We knew the largest ones had to be replanted in bigger pots.

Then on Sunday we returned to Lowe's Nursery....

.... to buy draing and stabelizing "stones", soil and murch.

We had work to do, Mats and papa. Before we started to work.

Crushed bricks in the bottom

After soil comes rain - Papa is Watering

More soil and murch on top

Drainging holes had to be drilled

Yucca Cane Trees on the Assembly Line

Cleaning up the mess

Finnished - Group 1 - Bromeliad in the foreground (Only morning Sun), Yucca Cane Tree to the Right and the Majesty Palm in the background. The Palms need more Sun and are to be equally treated.

The Majesty Palm is higher than I can reach which is 2,4 meter - 8 feet.

Proud Father and Son. Well done work.

Saturday Lunch with Lori and Mats
After bringing the new Plants home with Pots, it was a hard days work to find the right ones. We needed a well deserved Lunch.
I prefered a place from where I could see water. (Norse you see).
Lori proposed Clementine ( ohmydarling.com ). At the St. Joseph Marina.
Here is what we got. (Recommended by me for good food and excellent and quick service for a reasonable price).
This was Mats' preference
And here is Lori's (with Mushroms)
Mine - even with French Onion Soup
We asked for "doggie bags", but in spite of that fact, Mats insisted on Ice Cream for dessert. But at another Place. (I suspect he did see an opportunity - LOL)
At the "Cabana" in Saint Joseph, SW Michigan

Lots of people, allways. Large Servings, Premium Quality. Fast and professional service. We have been there before. And will return.

We sat on the Bluff enjoying our Ice Creams. Looking out at Lake Michigan.

The couple beside us on the Bluff: A Day in The Park. Charming, don't you think?
But there is more to come about our doings this Saturday...

Cats are Cats: Predators

Felicia did wake me up at around 4 am this morning. She had heard the Birds had started their Morning songs. Her starting platform was my stomach. Gosh she is strong.

Then she was away. No sounds. No response for her regular Breakfast. Why?

Here is the answere. She is a Cat. (She did eat the Bird but not the Feathers and legs)

Even Humans eat Birds. Birds that have been shot or mostly kept in "captivity" - like Turkeys, Chicken etc etc.
It's a hard reality.

Cats are Cats - no no- they are individuals. If you do not believe this fact. Go here.
